People are frightened to talk because of skepticism (it’s all in your head, it’s only your eye’s playing tricks, you’re hallucinating, its a misinterpretation of something natural or some other reply) and are talked out of what may of been a real paranormal experience.

I worked at a factory called CALNE SCREEN PRINT on p marsh ind est some years back. For a few weeks at 6:15am in the morning, all I could hear was a kind of whistle as if sombody was in the factory…
I was alone an thought it was outside… This carried on for a few days, and each time I looked up and down the factory the whistle seemed to move to another part. Anyone reading may think that it was sombody passing by on their way to work, only I had the roller doors open and could see all up and down the road. Each time there was nobody anywhere, the sound was from inside the factory for certain. I was totaly alone in the factory for half an hour each time as the nightshift had gone home at 6 and the first in from dayshift didn’t start until 6:30/6:45 ish… never did find out what was making that damn whistle. I cant recall the tune but I know it wasnt anybody outside just passing.

a bunch ov us came into work 1 mornin after nightshift had gone home an found a load ov spare striplights we had on a table smashed all over the floor,but they just mite ov fell ov corse

A few years back I purchased a house in Curzon Street, Calne. The house always had a eerie felling about it! kind of a depressing and low feeling. On a few occassions when walking from the stair way into the kitchen I thought someboby was standing in the kitchen, never actually seeing anyone, but for a milli second had the feeling someone was there. on many occassions we would go to bed, and once settled down… heavy breathing would be heard in the room! I used to hold my breath to make sure it wasnt myself I could hear! this was heard by a few other people that stayed over in my room. We also used to get the strong smell of purfume within the living room, old fashioned type of smell? not like purfumes of today. plus tobbacco smells, very strong pipe tobbacco…. I and my partner of the time did both smoke but it was nothing like the normal smell of cigaret smoke, plus we smoked outside most of the time as my two children had ashma.
I bought this property from a couple who had seporated, purchased very cheeply! since moving in things never seemed to go right for us as a family there, eventually my wife and i seporated and the house was sold.
Since moving out I spoke to a few locals who knew the area and the house, seems everone who has lived there has seporated or divorced or had bad tiimes there.
Id love to know more history about the old place.
